Busy day...

Yesterday was a fun and busy day. Grandma was in town, so Kylie got to spend some time with her. Even though she doesn't always show it, she sure loves her Grandma! We also got to go out to lunch with Grandma, Aunt Jan the Great, and Cousin Emily and Bailey. It was great to see them and have 3 generations together! (Although I wanted a picture of that and forgot to get one of all of us together!) It's amazing how time flies and it's amazing that I am now the one carrying on the family line. It feels like just yesterday the comments Em and I were hearing from our mothers were, "I wish you girls were more lady like like your mothers!" This was then followed by a not so lady like action! :) Ahhhh...the memories.

When Brian came home from work, we had a bunch of errands to run. One of those was to stop by his office to pick up something. So Kylie got to play. She loves to push buttons (on the phones, remote controls, keyboards, etc, etc) and she had so much to play with in Daddy's office. She also got a ride down the hall on Daddy's chair and got to do some exploring. This age has been SO MUCH FUN to see how much she loves to figure things out and watch her get so proud of herself when she does something all on her own for the first time! I love being a mom, and it just gets better and better!

Weekend Fun!

We've had a fun weekend. We love weekends when we finally get some fun family time. Fun family activities...some might say! :) (Thanks Amy for that phrase....we'll hopefully pass that on to all our children too! :) ) Anyway: just wanted to give you some shots of our weekend. Saturday was an awful weather day. It was raining cats and dogs, and even snowing in some places. (Can we say sick of winter already!! I hate being stuck indoors....especially with a one year old that just wants to be out exploring! Spring time can't come fast enough! :) ) We had an open house in the morning and so we went up to see our new house. We also stopped to see our friends and had lunch with them. We can't WAIT to be up there with them so we can hang out again. They have a daughter close to Kylie's age, and it's fun to see them interact. Anyway: after we got home and Kylie had her nap, we were SO BORED and sick of the house. So we headed over to the SLC Public Library. This was actually one of the stops on Amazing Race a few seasons ago...if any of you watch that show. It's an incredible building, and we wanted to check out the children's section for Kylie. She had a blast exploring the Grandma's Attic they had there and checking out all the books. She even paused for a few moments to let Mommy and Daddy read some books to her. She LOVES books and will often pick one up and start babbling like she is reading it. It's so cute. So the first few photos are from that experience.
The other photos are just a few random ones from the weekend. The ones with Kylie and her Daddy are my favorite...the last one being my absolute fave! He is such a good Daddy, and Kylie LOVES when Daddy is around. She gets all excited whenever he gets home and he gets so excited to see her. In the one picture she is tickling him because she likes his laugh when she tickles him. So she'll copy his laugh whenever she tickles him. It's pretty funny. Then my fave photo is when Brian was just getting done making a funny face that she was laughing at. So she is just staring up at his face and his at hers. I love that! It's amazing the feelings you have when you are raising your child, and the excitement you feel for each step of their lives. We are so lucky to have such an incredible, beautiful baby! We love you Kylie!! I often look at her and think...."Wow! She is stunning!" Is there anything better?! I don't think so! :)
Hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

Isn't life funny...

I just have been thinking lately how time flies. When you are living through experiences, they feel like they are happening so slow. Then all of a sudden, it's over and it's years later, and all you can do is think, "WOW....where did time go?" I remember in high school thinking that I would NEVER be done with that stage of my life. I loved high school, but you get to the point where, of course, you want to move on! Now...not only am I done with high school, but I have also graduated from college, gotten married, AND had a child! Where did it all go? I look back on all the periods of my life with fondness and am so thankful for the good and the bad that has molded me into the person I am today. I think of my life living on my own, starting with that first duplex off Center Street in Provo! (Thanks Brenda for finding that place and being the big sister I never had...even if you lectured me when I felt I didn't need it! :) ) Then off to Roman Gardens...wow! The memories there. Too much fun! (Thanks Hope for coming with me and continuing our late night talks, etc. together!!! You are right...I WOULD turn 21 before I knew it!!!! Dang it!!! :) ) Then on to Mountainwood where I would finish out my time in Provo. (Thanks Kendra, Tara, Debbie, and Margo for ALL the amazing memories!!!) Then moving a bit north to Sandy, Utah to live with my AMAZING CA-ZIN!!!! Those were such fun times that I will always cherish! Then moving even more North to Salt Lake so I could be closer to my amazing boyfriend...now husband....Brian! :) KT....even though it was short and you ran away to Africa when I got married....I'll never forget those days! :) And then to my house with my husband here in downtown Salt Lake.....I can't believe the life we have created together. It's been so amazing and such an experience. I LOVE YOU BRIAN!

Anyway: I don't know what made me write this! Sorry to bore you with part of my life's journey. :) There are so many friends that I have made and so many experiences that I would love to share, but don't worry! I won't! This all kinda started by me finding the first picture Brian and I were in together. :) So I wanted to share that, and now here is this post you can read along with it! :) Then I just wanted to share a few photos of our life together. :) So the first one is our first photo. The letter is a letter to my bro, Matt, that was on his mission in LA, CA! Then the next one is just from one of our visits to CO, and then the last is one of our engagment photos that my amazing brother, Brandon, took! I know they are random, but enjoy! :)

The Life of Kylie....

Just thought I would share some photos of Kylie through the months of her life. They grow up so fast. It feels like just yesterday she was a newborn babe asleep in my arms. Now she's a crazy toddler that has such a passion for life! :) It's fun to watch them grow and I have cherished every moment.

Soaking up the sun...

Here are just some photos I took of Kylie today. We are trying to get as much sun time as we can while it's still around. I do NOT look forward to winter's any more. I hate the cold and everything that comes with it! So we'll live it up outside while we can! Kylie took her time in walking, but now that she does.....she never stops. She wants to do EVERYTHING on her own. She doesn't want to hold mommy's hand, be guided in her path, or anything. She wants to forge her own way. So....our walks around the neighborhood are now me guiding her along making sure she doesn't wander into the street. Gone are the walks with her in the stroller. :) It's fun watching her grow. I just can't get enough of her cute face. I tried to get some good photos of her, but every time I got in front of her with the camera, she would turn around and walk the other way. She is so funny. She constantly makes me laugh! She just did NOT want to bothered by another photo! So I did the best I could. Trust me....she's ADORABLE! :) And she is our little adventure seeker. She loves anything fast and exciting. One of her favorite things is when daddy comes home and he throws her high up into the air. She just laughs and laughs. She's so cute! :) Oh...I did get a decent picture of her haircut that we did a few weeks ago. It was a much needed haircut and I love the result!

Our building a house experience...

We went to our house on Saturday, and this is the stage they are at. The outside is getting close to being done, and the inside is almost ready to be painted. The cabinets are all in, the tile is just about done (would have been done, but they made a mistake laying the tile that we luckily caught), and things are getting done. We have LOVED watching things step by step! Here are the pictures for those of you that have been asking.

Obviously the outside of our house. :)

If you walk into the kitchen from the family room, this part of the kitchen would be on your left.

If you are looking into the kitchen from the family room, this part of the kitchen would be right in front of you.

The shower isn't quite done yet, obviously, but it's on it's way. This is our Master Bath. This is one thing I am most excited for...can't wait for my jetted tub! :)

Our vanity in the Master Bath. It will look much better with countertops and cleaned up! :)

Our first cruise....

Well, Brian and I just recently took our first vacation without Kylie. Our first cruise! It's funny how much we felt we needed a break, and then how fast we just wanted to be back holding her! :) She was definitely the topic of most of our conversations. It was good to get away and spend some time as husband and wife though. We love crusing as well! It was a blast! It was a sort of a trip for work (more like a reward for Brian I guess), so we didn't get to pick where we sailed. But it was a beautiful trip. We sailed from Seattle (my first time being there) and hit a Nanimo, BC and Victoria. We also had a day on the sea, which was nice. They were both GORGEOUS places! Amazing! It was a bit cold, and next time I think we would go somewhere warmer. But it was great! We would go out on our balcony in the morning and breathe in the fresh air, and thought it couldn't get any better than this. Unless Kylie was with us! But it was a great time and we would recommend it to anyone! :)

When we got back to Seattle, we had almost 12 hours to spend in Seattle. So we were lucky enough to be able to spend time with Brenden and Tatem! Thanks for being GREAT hosts! We had a blast! We got to go to the Locks and see Salmon, eat YUMMY seafood, experience Pike's Market, see your beautiful apartment, and just have fun! And don't forget...running into TY PENNINGTON at the Crab Pot! FUN!!!! Thanks for a wonderful day! I love Seattle and hope to go back soon!

This is what we would often wake up to in the morning. There was SUCH beauty all around! We could wake up, put our robes on, step out onto our balcony, and see things like this! GORGEOUS!

The beautiful Empress hotel in Victoria!

Thanks Brenden and Tatem for showing us around Seattle!!!

We had a blast just goofing off in Seattle!

On the cruise, Brian found out there were still Pirates in real life. He couldn't stop thinking about us getting attacked the rest of the time! :)

Well here we are....

Just enjoying hanging out together!

Our sweet angel.....

Here is our sweet baby girl! It's amazing how fast they grow! We love you Kylie!

My first post....

Ok....so I finally did it! I am starting a blog! After many people trying to convince me to do it, I did it! :) Just one more thing to add to my busy day, I guess. But you better be nice to me while I figure out this whole blogging thing! Sorry if things look messed up, or pictures are too big, or etc, etc. I'm working on! I hope all of you are doing well though! I'll try to keep this updated as much as possible! Any words of advice on how to do this will be appreciated! :) Remember back to your first blogging days....what help did you need? Because send it my way! As far as updating everyone on what's going on with us....we are still in the process of selling our house. Although it was sold, the guy had to back out due to divorce problems. So now...it was put back on the market just as the market totally fell. That's my luck, I guess. So we have had to do a few price drops and hopefully it will sell soon. As far as our house that is being built, it's coming along. It is so fun to go up and watch the process of it being built. What used to be just an overgrown lot, now has a house sitting on it. We have seen it from the first hole being dug to now the tile, cabinets, etc. is going on! We were nervous picking things out for the house, but it all seems to be coming together so far. We'll see though! We LOVE it though and hopefully will sell our house so we can move! :) Wish us luck! Other than that, it's been fun these past 16 1/2 months watching Kylie grow. She is SO amazing! I just can't believe the joy it is having a child! We love her so much, and are having a blast watching her grow. It's amazing how much attention she gets when we are out in public. No more trying to run to the grocery store to grab a few things and not be noticed. Not with Kylie waving and saying "hi!" with a huge smile on her face to everyone she sees. She is SO cute and SO much fun! I am sure most of this blog will be about her! :) Sorry for this long post. I promise they won't all be this long! :) Hope you are all doing fabulous!
