Another reason I love summer...

(yes...yes...this is our ACTUAL tomato! Isn't she pretty! :) )

WE GOT OUR FIRST RED TOMATO OF THE YEAR!!!! Now this might not be exciting for some of you, but it is for us! :) We tried a garden last year and just didn't put the work into it that we needed to. So we didn't get much. But this year, we had our garden boxes built, put in top soil, got things actually planted, we visit it every day (or most days), we weed, etc, etc. So.....we want some good stuff from it, right?! Well....we've had squash, zucchini, some peppers, peas, and string beans. And we have watched the tomato's growing. They just have stayed green. Well....on Saturday Brian went to the garden and found OUR FIRST RED TOMATO!!!! (I will say...I love everything we grow in our garden but tomato's are my FAVORITE thing to grow yourself and eat fresh. I think this is one that taste's TOTALLY different than what you can buy at stores.) We were so excited so of course had to document the experience.

So here we are both taking our first bite. I love them plain, but for this first bite we had some cracker and cheese with it. Yum-Yum!

Yummmmy....it was delicious. This is all that was left after we finished. Brian even had fun with the top of the tomato. We got as much out of it as we could. We have a lot more green ones on the vine that should be ripe soon. Come visit us and we'll give you some! :)

A side note: while we were trying our tomato, Kylie had to have a popsa-popsa-Popsicle.

Water Park Wedding Reception fun!!

First of all, I'M SORRY that I haven't updated in so long. I feel like life has been crazy. But yes...I do have some current pictures that I need to post. Don't hate me or judge me! :)

So...we got invited to the BEST wedding reception. They had it at Seven Peaks Water Park in Provo, Utah. Some people mocked the idea a little, but I thought it fit them perfectly. (Well, the groom is whom I know and yes...it fits him PERFECTLY! Plus...it was where they met so how cute is that?! :) ) Now...I'm upset that I didn't get more pictures or even ONE picture of the cute couple. However...I got a few of Kylie. (Tara...I know you took more with your camera...want to send them over?! :) ) We had such a fun time. I saw 2 of my college roommates there...one I am in touch with all the time and FINALLY moved to Salt Lake so we can see each other more (and hopefully more often then we have been!), and the other I haven't seen since my wedding reception. (Hi Debs!!!) It was SO GOOD to see her and I miss her. Kylie LOVED playing in the kiddie water stuff. We stayed there while the park was opened to everyone. However, after just a little while they shut down the park for everyone but those of us at the wedding reception. That was AWESOME because there were NO LINES to wait in! We just ran up to the slides and went on down. And they have some SUPER fun rides there! My brother, Matt, came with us and he was a blast to play with! The time went too fast and we laughed our heads off. Thanks Rob for having your wedding reception there! It was AWESOME!!!! :)

It's Cousin Time!!!

This past Saturday I got together with my two cousins, Emily and Jaimee. Our Grandma has mentioned that she wanted a picture of us three with our kids. So...we decided to make this happen for her. Her birthday is in September, so we wanted to have one done by then. Getting 4 young kids to all look at the camera at the same time is not an easy process. We were all snapping pictures. These are the ones Emily got. What do you think? Good job, huh?! I think they are pretty decent. So I hope she doesn't mind...but I'm posting them here. :) (If you look at Em's blog...sorry you are seeing these again!)

Popsa-Popsa-Popsicle

Kylie talks SO MUCH these days. She repeats EVERYTHING, puts words together, says sentences...it's non stop talk all day. (Unless people she doesn't know is around. Then she clams right up...don't let it fool you! :) ) Well...our fave word that she says currently is Popsicle. Grandma Brown has gotten her hooked on these. (And Fruit Loops...but we won't get into that! :) I really don't like her eating much sugar and there is nothing but sugar in both of these treats Grandma has gotten her hooked on!) Anyway: it's summer so of course any kid has to have popsicles anyway. But we love to let her have them because we LOVE hearing her say it. It's SO FUNNY! She calls it a "popsa-popsa-popsicle" and it just makes us laugh. It's much cuter hearing her say it then trying to type it. Anyway: she was eating one sitting on the counter the other day as we were all around. Grandma started taking some photos...so I am actually in a picture. (Since I am usually the one that takes the pics, I'm not in many. And if I am in some..my head is cut off. See THIS POST on my other blog to know what I'm talking about. :) ) Can I just say that I love my family?! They are SO CUTE!

Aren't Daddy/Daughter photos the best! Even if this isn't the best pic of them...it still warms my heart!

Tea Party Time!!

One of Kylie's favorite things to do with Grandma Brown is to play Tea Party. If she's around...Kylie is pulling her away from whatever she is doing to come play tea party. Kylie has a little table that they play on, but Kylie is willing to travel. :) She will pull some of the tea party items over to wherever Grandma is to play. It's pretty precious. It's an absolutely darling activity to witness. Grandma is quite a good tea party player. It's just so much fun to watch pretend play with little kids. I LOVE THIS GIRL!!! :)
